Pagliaro Montefalco Sagrantino 2019

Ron R
9.4

A more leaner rendition of this varietal, but in a good way. Nose displays clean cinnamon and toast. Palate is broad and expansive, yet light on its feet. A kiss of vanilla pod and black fruits conclude an excellent presentation. This is an intellectual wine.

@Ron R brother…where do I begin! Paolo Bea is a hero of mine and his son Giampiero is now carrying the torch. There are others that are doing things in a somewhat similar fashion…but that should require further discussion.

Grecante Colli Martani Grechetto 2023

Vintage 2023 | Juicy and very quaffable grechetto. Each time I taste this brings me back to a visit to Arnaldo Capraï in Umbria. It is a emotion wine to me. Paired with a schnitzel. — 2 months ago

First pour is lithe and delicate. With a few hours decant, not the most full bodied, but very accessible at less than nine years from vintage. Drying tannins, subtle secondary notes on palate. — 14 days ago
