Had 2018 under quarantine on July 25, 2020. Liked it. Nice and crisp but not overly so. Mineral. Lush. — 6 years ago
Celebration wine (paid off the Tundra).... This is layered and evolving, with a nose of tobacco smoke, tar, black plum, cherry kirsch, dried violet and rose, bay leaf, sage, anise, and blackcherry. Round, sweeter dark berry and cherry fruit on the palate. Structure builds in mouthcoating tannin balanced by rich acidity. Spice box, leather and tar on the mid-palate. Acidity is still fresh, almost tart, and lifts a finish that is balanced and lingers for 60+ seconds. Underripe cherry and gravel. A touch of warmth speaks to the vintage and comune. This over-delivers at the price point with outstanding complexity, depth and length. Hold for 3-5 more years, then enjoy over an evening. — 7 years ago
The 99 Chenin was oxed but the Clape was glorious. - at Archer — a month ago
This had lots of red & black fruits, still youthful that opens with air with notes of menthol, savory spices, mineral, floral & tobacco — 5 months ago
Just a perfect accompaniment to simply roasted chicken. Soft nose has bright cherry/red berry fruitiness, and a soft, beet-like earthiness, along with subtle cracked stones. In the mouth it’s soft and nearing maturity, with soft but adequate acids and a decent amount of soft tannin. The flavors have nicely-concentrated soft cherry fruit, and some nice stony minerality. Nice length for a basic Alsace AOC wine. I like this a lot. — 6 months ago

You’re going to have to just buy a bottle yourself and taste it to find out, peasant. (ok dark cherry forest floor that shit was good. I housed the whole bottle) — 6 years ago

Floral bomb on the nose. Ripe apricot, honeysuckle, lavender, and minerals on the palate with a hint of petrol. Medium bodied, medium alcohol, medium acid, and medium plus finish. — 2 years ago

Perfect expression of the varietal, palate begins with honey, finishes long. Pithy tropical notes after a bit...needs to be cold. Stands up to a fatty steak and salty fare. — 7 years ago
Pinotman /// Andreas
Bought in Colmar, Elsass. This was the best Gewuerz I ever had in the last 20 years. Super tropical and complex but also high acidity and some tartness. Unlike other vintages very little residual sugar left per analysis of the winery. This was so good that I am considering to go back next year and visit the winery - I ran out of time this time. Could not find a US importer. — 19 days ago
