Tecce is one of my favorite Italian producers. The 2022 Satyricon doesn’t disappoint. Opens up after 3-4 hours. Dried flowers, cherries and charcoal on the nose. Lovely aromatics. Tart cranberries with blackberries. Sharp minerality, mouth-puckering tannins, astringent, dry, dusty and savory long finish. Very long. Young. 14.5% abv, but it doesn’t feel overly full or heavy. I remember the 2020 being darker and more fruit-forward, but I could be wrong. — 14 days ago

Nose displays white peach, green apple, lime, ripe starfruit, touch a dry hay, and hint of honey. The palate, bright and lively, is a bit leaner than the medium to fu body suggests. Fascinating bitter sweet on the finish.

Green pea and lemon, butternut and chive; a waxy Semillon essence, leek and white pepper. Perfect age here on a magnum, and shining incandescent. Garden melange on the palate showing baby spinach minus the tannin and crunchy sprouted barley but bouncing hard to lemon abcf citrus peel to deliver a creamy yet pithy framework that rings undeniably dry and lemongrass forever. Excellent in every way and singularly expansive. The DOCG is well -deserved and remarkable. Aloe and chayotes.
