Château Cos D'estournel

Château Cos Labory

St. Estèphe Red Bordeaux Blend 2018

A spicy, herbal nose with notes of tar, bay leaves, overripe blueberry, meaty notes like iron, a nose that smells of pine, with an underlying freshness that’s welcoming, cutting through the heavily perfumed nose. The body is medium, with prominent grippy tannins that show the youth, with prominent blueberry, a little black cherry, with spicy energy, tar, underripe balsamic, herbs de Provence, graphite and a looong finish. I really enjoyed this, and a great first step for St. Estephe. — 2 months ago

One of the most contemporary Tempranillos out there.
Big, bold cherries on the nose and palate. Tannic and broad-shouldered. Not in the zone at this point. Give in another 5 years and this will sing. Wifey gave the expression that somebody stole the jam from her donut cos of the tobacco overload!

This showed the style of the 2009 vintage. However, it lacked some of the teeth & depth I normally get from this producer. Notably off for such a stellar vintage.

Château Phélan Ségur

Saint-Estèphe Red Bordeaux Blend 2022

2022 vintage. From a 375ml bottle. The St. Estèphe exception that proves the rule. Super-delicate cocoa powder with sumptuous richness throughout. Light-medium body. Cos is an outlier on the right. This is on the left. Nearly everything else is in between, hammer and nail 3D BDX...dry, dirty and distinctive. Excellent quality BDX to woo initiates with. 6.26.26. — 3 months ago

Château Latour

Premier Grand Cru Classé Pauillac Red Bordeaux Blend 1995

It was a special night. 26 year old wine, that incredibly felt like it was just bottled. Tannins still present. Rich black fruit, with graphite and pencil shavings. As special as it was to enjoy this bottle with friends, it’s hard to reconcile the value of the wine. We had a Cos De Estournel with this and it showed just as well at a fraction of the cost. — 5 years ago

Nice bottle and experience. I'm a big CosD fan here, the older they get, the better they are for enjoyment.
