2014 vintage. Last tasted 04.20.22 (9.5). Still tight but behind all the subterfuge, clouds, white lies, deception and smoke, there is a fantastic show slowly being assembled. All the performers are there and you've watched plenty of the rehearsals. Another 8-10 years will likely find this in the 9.6 and maybe 9.7 zone when the curtain finally rises. Built for future speed. If you've got the time and ca$hi$h, put a case aside and start tapping in 2035. This goes places wine doesn't have a right to. It's not asking for permission. 01.30.25. — 13 hours ago
Deep ruby in color with slight brick color on the rim. Nose is quite pleasing with berry compote, lavender, and dark chocolate. Also a bit of earthiness. Wow. A great mouthfeel on this wine. Well balanced with tannins still a bit heavy. That said, I like my wines with a bit more tannic backbone. These notes are from pop and pour taste. Will let it open up a bit and will update if it changes significantly. — 15 hours ago
On nose its dominant blackberries, some red fruits, florals, spices like pepper, oak,
On palate, wine is still tannic at first taste, gave it breathe for 60-90 minutes, mouth coating acidity, its not too bold, but it offers good structure with medium intensity. Its drinkable now, cheers everyone! — 7 days ago
Wine is dark ruby, on nose its blueberries, some toastiness, caramel,
On palate, its medium acidity, medium intensity, red and black fruits, little bit tannic at the end. Its a good quality wine. Drink it or keep it 3-4 years more. 52% Carbenet Sauvignon, 48% Merlot. Cheers!! — 7 days ago

Still sporting the $12.99 sticker that this was many years ago. Just under top of shoulder fill. Cork was fantastic.
A few of the other early ‘80s wines I’ve opened from this same acquisition needed time to open up and blow off funk, but this was ready from the get go. At its age (and provenance), the wine is translucent ruby with bricking at the rim and shows classic Pauillac notes (graphite, leather, cassis) with tart red fruits, herbs and some pipe tobacco. Still retaining acidity and a decent amount of tannin at the finish. A unique high-toned/mint note came around aromatically ever so often and would fade.
Followed out of bottle during the evening and it stayed consistent. — 6 days ago
