Cheers to Champagne Charlie!
This is the Charles Heidsieck Brut Rosé Réserve. It’s made with a blend of Pinot Noir (40%), Chardonnay (35%), Meunier (25%). It’s a non-vintage wine that cellared in Charles Heidsieck’s famous chalk cellars (crayeres) for 4+ years.
It’s a beautiful salmon hue in appearance and offers complex aromas and flavors including strawberry shortcake, lemon curd, fresh raspberry, baked peach, pie crust, brioche, cream, nougat, toasted almond croissant, candied nuts, and dried pink rose petals. On the palate is a fine and creamy mousse and vibrant acidity.
It’s positively delicious, complex, and balanced. A non-vintage that drinks like a vintage champagne. Yum! — a month ago
Wanted to drink this with friends but that ain’t happening so cracked it for NYE. Very good I don’t think Charles Heidsiek makes anything that isn’t though — 18 days ago
Loved it! Super smooth body snd pleasant flavor. — a month ago
Rich golden hue with aromas of candied apples and caramelized peaches. Not overly sweet, but full bodied. Great with our cheese board. — 8 days ago
Medium ruby , terracotta , garnet rim . Quite aromatic , with cedar , tobacco , leafy redcurrant , blackcurrant , wet earth. Slightly rounded and red fruit focused sous bois on the palate , quite high acidity , but refined and red fruit focused. Slightly green tannins , but overall reasonable mineral tinged length . This is at peak , leafy but charming — a month ago
