Vintage 2001 | my oh my. 24 years old. We tend to drink grüner veltliner young but there is no need to do so. @Rob van Kalmthout said the advice is to drink between 3-5 years or after 15 years and longer. I saw many happy faces with this wine. Flint and spicyness. I smelled chestnut champignons. Dill. And also creamy butter. Vitality, rich, beautiful rondeur. Fantastic. — 6 days ago
Vintage 2023 | I almost never drink a glass of wine just by itself… but always at dinner. My wine friends critize me if I state: this is a dinnerwine to eat with. They say: wine must be good by itself, Peter. I advocate that wine tastes much better with food. This grüner veltliner is kind of middle of the road (at this moment) when you drink it by itself. We combined it with a baguette with goose rillettes. Like opening the himmel/heaven a bit. 😝 — 11 days ago

Second evening in Austria. The nose is pretty typical, with lemon, lemon zest, some flowery touches and a tiny petrol touch. The palate is acid driven, there are some nice lemon and zesty touches all along, some more width in the mid palate before a moderately long finish with lemon and lemon zest. Simple yet delicious. Not as laser focused as German Riesling expressions, but a bit lovelier, more gentle. Good stuff — 9 days ago

The nose is very minerally with chalky and flinty notes, apple juice, honey, and lemony notes, too. The palate shows a great acid drive, much more focused than most GV numbers I have had so far. I like its tension a lot! Apple juice and lemony notes all along, a soft, easy-going mouthfeel, a bit of grip in the rear, and a long finish with the same fruity notes and a chalky feel to it. This is not vert complex but super well made. I could picture myself sipping on this and serving it to both wine nerds and casuals alike at the party at home without a problem. — 4 days ago
