Les Rouges du Dessus Vosne Romanee 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2023

Lyle Fass
9.9

The color is remarkable. The florals are just next level. My goodness. Red roses that are almost Nebbiolo like. Bartolo. Stunning spice. Cinnamon. Just slays. This nose is a 10 and that is not in dispute. Under all of the florals and berry. Luscious and pure and has lift and energy but needs to catch up to the nose. Sweet sweet fruit that is mid season cherry. Complex and fresh and the acidity is on point. Needs air. With 7 hours of air this is stunning. Nose is all florals, all early season cherry fruit, and stunning spice. Unreal palate. Magic. Elegant, sweet, deep and just vibrates on its own plane. Such fine tannins. Brilliant. Nose is just so elite. The most stunning florals ever. 10.0. Maybe 11.0. Palate is just insane. 9.9 now. Such sweetness and depth. Silly purity and big velvety and sweet tannins. — 15 days ago

I very much enjoyed this as the different components had their moment to shine as wine opened up. — a year ago

Langlois-Château

Vieilles Vignes Crémant de Loire Chenin Blanc 2005

LoireTasting #6 - cab franc serie
Deep garnet color, thick (not filtered, not glued) Beautiful evolved notes - red fruits, licorice, pomegranate, and many shades between undergrowth, spices etc. developing during tasting. A Loire wine that has magnificently endured 18 years in cellar and needs to take the time to open.

Domaines Bunan

Rosé Moulin des Costes Bandol 2023

Popped and poured; enjoyed on an outdoor patio on a beautiful autumn afternoon hence, no formal notes. The 2023 Domaines Bunan Rosé delivers what you want of a Rosé from Bandol: the texture and substance of Mourvèdre in a lighter, brighter package. Almost chewy, this delivers such a sense of place for the money. Drink now, on a porch, with a friend. — 6 months ago

I visited this winery in 1985 on a trip to Provence. The label’s the same! Didn’t know the wines were available in the US (assuming that’s where you are).

Les Roches Rouges Pinot Noir 2015

Color is medium-red, oak barrel notes, but in nice balance to the red cherry aromas and flavors, nice acid, medium-long finish, very good Alsatian Pinot Noir, which I expect will go very well with our grilled Canadian wild sockeye salmon! — 3 years ago
