Höllenpfad im Mühlenberg Grosses Gewächs Riesling 2019

Pineapple, orchard apple, and lime. Less acidic than I would’ve imagined. Faint yeasty/bready character. From 375. Treat from a regular. — 6 months ago

Kirchenstuck Riesling Grosses Gewächs 2020

Needs a good 75 minUte decant. Very reluctant.

Nose: Smokey minerals. Lemon rind. Pith. Some sea breeze. Complete. Much richer and more dense as it opens.

Palate: hint of sweet lemon. Hidden density. Delicious. Elegant. Almost an herbal liquor taste after an hour. Denser an hour in.

More later but wow is this stunning as I remember. So refined and elegant. Unreal fruit, granitic lift and length. Genius. Ahh, so gamey, meaty, olivey and feral now with great sweet fruits and a silky texture. Gorgeous. — 5 months ago

Wow.

Nose is “outrageous” dense. Umami. Complex. Wow.

Palate: rich but balanced. Dense but bright. Awesome.

As this opens fucktastic brininess.

Les Pierres Dorées Pinot Noir 2016

A French Pinot Noir, which is interestingly grown in Beaujolais. Begins with a welcome balance of fruit and earth on the nose with raspberry and cranberry along notes of mushroom and black pepper.  These flavors continue onto a very well balanced palate which has an a lively vein of acidity running though it. A perfect pairing with creamy truffle steak penne! [4/29/23] ($35) — 2 years ago
