Very nice! No “wow” factor, just a solid Riesling for a great price! — 8 days ago

Quite perky 2022. Not modern style, much more acidity than expected. Rich robust dark fruit. Tight tannins. Really nice. — a month ago

Sage Canyon California Red Blend 2020

i asked for something interesting & unusual and this was suggested: southern Rhône varietals from CA, and it was fantastic! pours a deep rich ruby, opaque and wafting a cornucopia of aromas, intoxicating: first it was all exotic spices like clove & incense, garrigue, then it was cherry compote then it turned to raspberry pie, dried orange rind, dried herbs, pepper, etc. My first CA wine that smelled like high end CdP - liquified distilled voluptuous aromas & flavors. palate was so jam packed, med bodied, finely grained tannins, silky & suave - balanced acidity. screams old vine fruit handled well — a month ago

Barbaresco Nebbiolo 2012

Plenty of tannins left. 25bucks. Those were the days! 14%| Quite classic. Browne tinge. Needs at least 2-3 hours of air. Quite harsh and astringent. Roses, earthy and dusty, very dry. Hint of truffles. - Not super exciting at first (15min) so wait. Will last another 10 years - but i do worry about the fruit component if you need space in your cellar - i would suggest drink up. I will. Some folks tend to hype these wines i don’t - after all this is their most basic version with a large production volume. Total volume is 500,000 bottles a year at this cooperative. My guess they to make a lot of this one. — 11 days ago

Impressive for its focus and presentation. Green Apple and grapefruit on the nose and palate. Clean and laser-focused with lychee on the back end. Super summer’s day sipper. Tilting sweet. First time trying this producer. Was not aware that NY was producing wines of this quality. — a month ago

We did a road trip to the Finger Lakes in 2022. Real nice Reisling & Cab Franc. There’s also some beautiful hiking.

@Vin d’Ottawa, thanks and appreciate the insights. Clearly, we have to travel there, too.

Dry Creek Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

Lead pencil, veg, spice cedar combo and some dark plums on the nose. The taste had some plums and a bit of veg. The finish was okay but a bit short. Overall a great wine and my last 2016 and now on to the 2017s. — 2 months ago
