Edmunds St. John

Rocks and Gravel Dry Creek Valley Grenache Blend 2014

Second to last vintage of this wine that Steve Edmunds produced. It was special before he decided to hang things up and even more so now. Cali GSM with true old world sensibility — 14 days ago

Lytton Springs Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel Blend

Really tasty mostly zin blend. A little bit high acid and tight right when opened but was great after about 30 min — a month ago

Château d'Esclans

Whispering Angel Côtes de Provence Rosé Blend

Minerality, crispness, mostly dry…a profile I love. I was pleasantly surprised by this find at Fred Meyer!

Unbelievable! So tasty right from first pour. It’s big but there’s a lightness to it that is so refreshing. — a day ago

Individual Vineyard Selection Eden Valley Dry Riesling 2023

3.3. We don’t usually drink Riesling, but this dry Riesling from Australia was a gift from a friend, and we very much enjoyed it with cheese and crackers before dinner. — 16 days ago

Dry Creek Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

Best wine list deal in SF and maybe the country! So good. Needed decant but was so complex and tasted amazing with the prime rib. Cocoa, tea, a bit of wood, dark fruits. So lovely. — a day ago

Yarra Yering

Dry Red N°1 Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2022

The final wine at the Yarra Yering dinner in Brisbane last Thursday night 3rd October 2024 with winemaker Sarah Crowe. Fitting that Dry Red No. 1 should be the final wine - arguably the Jewel in the Crown. Initial aromatic impressions are gorgeous. This is the 50th vintage of Dry Red No. 1. A blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Malbec and Petit Verdot. Brief notes - blackberry, aniseed and bay leaf. A medium bodied Cabernet with M+ intensity and finishing with fine boned tannin structure. Power with poise, concentration with finesse. Will live for 20 years plus. I have been buying on an irregular basis for many years. The 1990 was a highlight. I asked Sarah, who was Chairman of the Royal Sydney Wine Show this year to compare 3 of the main Cabernet producing areas in Australia - Yarra Valley leafy fragrance, Coonawarra Mint, and Margaret River herbaceousness. At Restaurant Dan Arnold. — 2 months ago
