Wow!! For sure one of the best white wines I’ve ever had. I realllllly love the aromatics on this - some smokiness, herbs, minerals with lemon. Complex, subtle, layered. The flavors are very refined. Very mineral, perfect acidity. Restrained, elegant fruit, mostly citrus with notes of pecan, popcorn? and fresh greens. Luxurious finish. So balanced! I just learned that Gutedel is another name for Chasselas, which is a favorite grape of mine for Swiss whites. But this is on another level. I’m going to listen to @Lyle Fass and patiently age my other 2 bottles. Just had to try one now :) — 22 days ago

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. Sourced from a single vineyard in Grezzana, the 2016 Case Vecie pours a deep garnet color with a near opaque core; medium+ viscosity with moderate staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe and dried red, black and blue fruits: Bing cherry, Craisins, pomegranate, Fig Newtons, red flowers, fine cocoa, espresso, gentle warm spices and a mix of organic and inorganic earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. The alcohol is high. However, it’s remarkably balanced considering its extraordinary ABV, 16.5%!! That being said, you would hardly know it…until it got you turnt! For real though, I don’t drink a lot of Amarone…but this is damned good. Drink now through 2041. — 6 months ago

The only one on a good horizontal lineup that I wouldn’t pick blind , but good. Leaning into Chablis territory with leesy creaminess and maybe some oak, but still has a pleasant rounded herbal nose (artichoke, succulents)  and comes together in a pleasantly balanced, rounded tone  — 6 months ago
