Forgotten bottle at my in laws. What a good surprise! Didn't know I had left it there 🤷🏻♂️.
This is again a very biaised review as this comes from a vineyard located 10 miles away from where I grew up. A blend of negrette and syrah.
There is a strong violet, blackberry, irony, pepper nose. Very inviting. The palate is very much defined by its acid backbone and its vibrant blackberry and cherry note. There is a huge tannins wall in the middle here, drying up everything in its wake but making way to a fruity, peppery finish with a fruity twist. Huge wine for less than 10 euros — 5 years ago
About ten years ago when I was in South Dakota, I asked my server for a white wine recommendation and was given a bottle of Vouvray, a part of the Loire Valley that I have never forgotten since that moment. Now as I felt then, the Chenin blanc grape is one of my favorites. It’s the reason I constantly return to wine from this part of France. This bottle of Les Aumones lived up to my expectations. It is a great, inexpensive choice from Vouvray. It tastes of apple pie and honey, has a refreshing but not overbearing acidity, and is easy - perhaps too easy to drink. It’s a sweet wine but in harmony with its other notes. This 2018 bottle from Domaine Le Capitaine is one I highly recommend (and affordable). — 6 years ago
PnP’d. Purple color. Had trouble differentiating between Napa, Aussie Shiraz, and Bordeaux. Very similar to Chateau Dassault, which I love. Age did wonders for this wine. Great combination of dark cherries, oak, and tar. Powerful but not terribly deep. Medium minus finish. — 7 years ago
Pale purple in color.
Strong nose of black currants, plums, light oak and chocolate notes.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with red and black fruits, light wood, spices, coffee, earth, dark chocolates, tobacco leaf, herbs and peppercorn.
Tangy finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.
This Single Vineyard Syrah from Walla Walla Valley is much lighter than I expected it to be. Engaging and interesting. Complex, fruit forward and easy drinking. A nice sipping wine.
A blend of 97% Syrah and 3% Viognier. Grapes were fermented with wild yeast in concrete vats and aged in neutral French oak barrels for 22 months. A small production of less than 3,500 bottles.
13.5% alcohol by volume.
90 points.

I’d forgotten about this which I bought many moons ago as part of a vertical of Albert’s.
The 2005 was one of their earliest vintages and having “found” it thought it was probably outside its drinking window. Lots of sediment and crust had lined inside bottle much like a Henschke Mount Edelstone, decanted and it opened up after a couple of hours and it was beautifully smooth and integrated package of flavours.
I have a 2005 Edelstone which I’ll open soon but the Albert evolved over the evening and is an excellent testament to Kym Teusner’s work. — a year ago
Litt kjeller, ikke mye. Lite tanniner, ikke bitter. — 4 years ago
New Year’s Eve leftovers forgotten (open) in the fridge after an epic night and a full day of napping. So after 36 hours it’s still pretty righteous amber bliss, a bitter edge with singular notes of butterscotch, anise, petrol, citrus rind, pine, and the faintest bit of untanned leather on the way way back....nice performance. very easy late morning armchair drinking. vendor says 2015 but the bottle is not marked. — 5 years ago
Strawberry (and other red fruits) bright and fresh!! A lil whiff of alcohol toward the finish, slightly malty too. From TX hill country (they moved)! — 6 years ago
Out of the bottle: bold red and black fruit, spice, black pepper and tannins. After some air, it becomes more mellow and a touch more fruit-foward. A little more age would work wonders, but still, very good. — 6 years ago
We had it a Lucali, a pizza restaurant in Miami. Medium dark rubi robe, nose of spices and black fruits. Medium bodied, fresh and with civilised tannins. Good stuff for the price and worked wonders with the excellent pizza. — a year ago

Age has done wonders for this. Insanely expressive nose with green apple, apricot and more. Tons of slatey aromas and even some herbs. Palate is scintillating with energy for days and so much acid. The greatest NV blend ever. — 2 months ago
