Frühburgunder or Pinot noir précoce. Picked this up from Seeger, drove home, opened and started drinking. Immediately appealing with red- and blackcurrants, smoky background notes and balanced acidity. Keeps getting better and better in the glass. Simply put: delicious! — 3 years ago
Big 18 sunshine nose. Violets, mulch and spice. Some nice sweet wood as well. But just enormous spice. Very Fruh. Palate is so elegant and full of violets and wonderful inner mouth florals. Really nice opulent texture and just floats. Let’s see what air does. After air this gets more linear and gains edge and energy. Really different now than when it was p and p. — 2 months ago
Almost has the fruity nose of a Beaujolais - some of that popping fresh red fruit and a hint of bubblegum.
Nice balance on the tongue of tart ripe fruit and acid. Some oak to give it all a little sense of maturity. — 8 months ago
@Delectable Wine This is Fruhburgunder Burgstadter. Thanks!
Nose is spicy and a tad green. Tree bark and violets. Lovely perfume. Supple as supple can be but still firm tannins. Juicy and clean. — 6 months ago
Stunning. None of the palate gap I’ve had in other frühburgunder. Huge fun in a blind lineup. — 3 years ago

Vintage 2016 | Has lost its frivolousness but keeps strong structure with good fruit. Paired with a venison steak. — 18 days ago
