Medium copper salmon colour . Slightly waxy dried orange , spiced wild strawberry , touch of resin , sea salt . On the palate this has more fruit , with touches of orange , spiced dried strawberry , roasted nuts, saline seaside hints , balanced acidity and elegant , refined personality. Intense and long , this is probably showing better and more complete than the 2011 I had a few weeks ago . Just starting to get going , but still with a long life ahead. From now and over the next 5 to 10 years perhaps . — 2 months ago
Great wine in a great vintage. Dark fruit, well handled oak, plums and cherries, great acidity and fine tannins and length — 3 months ago
Easy drinking delicious garnacha. Great value. — 18 days ago
2021. Opened two nights ago without time to decant and enjoyed a glass which had really intense aromas and bright acidity and earthiness on the finish. This rating is for the glass we had tonight. Tart cherries and berries, floral and herbal, all integrated. Delicious wine. — 11 days ago
Not the best bottle of ardanza I’ve had but always a treat to drink a classic — 8 days ago
Soft, cozy, smooth — 2 months ago
Full bodied but not overwhelming. Lots of berry textures and the leather/nutty finish is very smooth. I could enjoy this over a broad array of meat and pasta dishes. — 3 months ago
Bold, delicious Rioja amazing value for the price and vintage. — 3 months ago

Sleeper! Can’t recall what I paid for this, but it was stunning: immediately showed gorgeous notes of all manner of red fruit & cassis, strong vein of minerality along with sweet schisty soil, loam, clay, spice, white pepper a ton of other notes. Reminded of CDP and Gigondas. Such purity, beautiful old vine material handled well - oak accented/enhanced - all polish & a fine cut. Captivating complexity as it unwound over the course of a couple of hours. Dead sexy — 8 days ago
