Happy Canyon Of Santa Barbara, Central Coast

Au Bon Climat

Santa Barbara County Pinot Noir 2006

Took a bit of time for the funk to blow off but once it did it was drinking nicely. Not much life left though, but amazing a California Pinot could last this long. — 12 hours ago

Always a stunner

Tatomer

Meeresboden Vineyard Grüner Veltliner 2023

2023 vintage. Wanted the intensity of previous vintages tasted but wasn't getting it on the back palate. Still, would hit this if encountering in the wild. 01.29.25. — 2 months ago

Not a Syrah but a Grenache blanc. Good skin contact that was gifted to Hailey. — 4 months ago

Todos Ballard Canyon Red Bordeaux Blend 2019

A blend of about 50% Syrah, rest Cab Sauv, Petit Verdot, Petite Sirah, Cab Franc, Sangiovese, Viognier & Merlot. Deep inky Ruby color with complex aromas of dark fruit, spice, almonds and wet earth. On the palate blackberry, currant and raspberry flavors, soft tannins on a long finish ending with leather, pepper, smoke and oak tones. Very Nice, a beauty. — 17 days ago

Santa Barbara County Syrah 2022

A great representation of an extremely approachable Syrah from Santa Barbara county. Medium-to-full-bodied, rounded and elegant, all red fruits on the nose concours to the palate from beginning to the very end. Medium tannins, some spices and wet woods are easily noticed. It’s a cork and pour, ready to go Syrah. Delicious! — 2 months ago

Happy Canyon of Santa Barbara Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

ちょっとお高いカリフォルニアのCS。うきうき税込4680円の2016年もの。うーん❤️、ボルドー信者には無理かも知れませんが、個人的にはかなりの高級感。香り、凝縮感、アフターすべて申し分ないです。

Jonata Winery

La Sangre de Jonata Ballard Canyon Syrah 2015

Even better than the crazy-good 2007, the 2015 La Sangre de Jonata is sheer perfection in a glass and up with the finest Syrahs ever made in California! Checking in as a blend of 97% Syrah and 3% Viognier, aged in barrel, its saturated purple color is followed by out of this world aromatics black raspberries, smoked earth, graphite, game, violets and freshly crushed rock-like minerality. — a month ago

Sounds crazy, given the pricing, but underrated stuff.

Herman Story

White Hawk Vineyard Syrah 2022

This is a layered narrative of dark fruits, a dash of black pepper, and that unmistakable hint of smoky earth. And undeniably funky. It’s not just about boldness; it’s about a refined grit, a raw elegance that speaks of rugged vineyards and uncompromising craftsmanship. — 2 months ago

Kick-On Ranch Riesling 2021

Probably one - if not - the best Cali Riesling. Smokey and rich, hint pine needles, touch band aid, plenty of acid. Quite austere. Atypical almost Chablis like. I do really like this! 13%. 125 cases made. — 3 months ago

Yeah, I’ll take Tatomer as the best, non-dessert styled Riesling producer in the new world.
