Paul Hobbs

Goldrock Estate Pinot Noir 2020

Deep purple in the glass, with aromas of dark cherry, vanilla, spices, and earthy notes. The palate reveals layers of oak and ripe red and blackberry fruits. Opulent, with a medium body and soft tannins, it embodies a New World style—a Pinot Noir for Cabernet lovers. The ABV is on the higher side, and it could benefit from additional aging. — 20 days ago

1hr+ decant. Lovely dark red/purple color. Still has years left in it. Blue fruit with cedar and car exhaust (in a good way!). Well integrated as only Paul can do. So definitive I could guess this blind every time. Love it! Medium plus depth and finish. Would love to try this side by side with Pontet Canet. This rocks!! — a month ago

Dry Estate Vineyard Riesling 2020

Much prefer this 2020 vintage over 2021 and slightly over 2022. 2020 created a very floral and moderately fruit-forward nose that is still dry with high-minus acidity. Minerality typical of FLX Riesling is there. Finishes shorter than I like. — 20 days ago

Lovely gold color. Nose has lemongrass, honey, straw, and butter. Wine is slightly past prime. Palate contains butter, stone fruit, and camomile. Medium plus depth and long finish. Not as expressive as previous bottles. — 2 months ago
