El Pedro Jiménez de Chateau subsonico (bodega Falasco). Un mil — 4 months ago
Big and full bodied. Juicy plums. Long finish with tannins coming in at end. Almost a bit of a floral/herbal quality on the nose. Super good for the price. — 2 years ago
Comando G’s “village” wine - La Bruja de Roza, is the result of a collaboration between Daniel Landi and Fernando Garcia. This wine is sourced from several vineyards in the vicinity of Las Rozas de Puerto Real (near Madrid). It is described as being “pure Garnacha from granitic sand, La Bruja is perfumed and lively with plenty of fruit with a backbone of acidity and fine tannin.”
If you have not tried any Comando G wines, you really need to seek and try. La Bruja de Rozas serves as a good intro to the Comando G wines. I would describe the 2020 as having notes of currants and red berries, as well as being a bit smokey/flinty. Not smokey in a bad way, but definitely prevalent on the nose. This wine is medium-ish body with 14.5% ABV.

Juan Gil Jiménez first built his winery in 1916 in Jumilla, and passed it down to his future generations. From 100% Certified Organic Monastrell (or Mourvèdre in France), in chalky, stony soils, aromas of dark berry fruits and woody spice. Aged 12 months in French oak, palate shows blackberry and plum with smoky wood flavors and notes of cacao and cinnamon spice. Soft ripe tannins, medium+ ending with a light toasty earthy character. Great value! Very nice! — 3 months ago
Minimal alcohol on the nose, great legs, wonderful mouthfeel. Drier then expected. — a year ago
Poggio Landi Brunello Di Montalcino Riserva 2016: Medium-bodied. Balanced tannins. Bright red fruits. Leather. Tobacco. Oak. Long elegant finish. All in all, this wine had an evolving flavor profile (as the evening progressed) and it ended as a very solid, very classic Brunello that left me very satisfied. A lovely selection & recommendation. Great day to all! Cheers🍷 — 2 years ago
