Did I just have this in January? Yup! lol. Anyway nose is young and grapey. Super young. Dark berry and bright red berry fruit. Maybe some pomegranate? Really unique nose. Good syrah sweetness. Palate also young and grapey. But elegant and meaty as all can be. Charcuterie, rich dark berry fruit, super concentrated and just so young but has energy, freshness and acidity. Needs mega air. I’ll be back. Nose becomes more civilized with air and settles into spiced dark berries. Palate is so gamey, so olives and so feral. Really wild St. Jo. — 3 years ago
Nose is gorgeous. Like a mountain air flowing over a field of tropical flowers. Beautiful. A hint of opulence but perfectly integrated and so elegant. Wow.
Palate is mineral. Light integrated fruit. Delicious. Lacks the density to be better than this but good I love this. Blind might have guessed savoie but doesn’t have that pine thing. But it’s that elegant. So clean and perfect. Seamless.
Long finish. Like drinking fresh cold creek water after a long hot hike.
This is insane for 30 minutes and then just very good afterwards. Not a wine to sit with methinks.

This was a good Cote-Rôtie for its price point. Meaty and smoky, with a nice nose. Decanted maybe 20 minutes before serving. Served with a reverse-seared whole picanha, accompanied with roasted tomatoes and seasoned Greek yogurt, tomato cucumber and red onion salad, and wild rice medley. Good for a night at home with guests. — 4 months ago
Just terrific. Nose has a bit of wildness to it but also florals, red berry fruit, Palate is elegant and juicy. Almost a Burgundian interpretation of Cote Rotie with how red the fruit is and how supple the mouthfeel is. The elegance here is inspiring. 21 is so so killer. — a year ago

The aromatics on this are powerful and complex. Florals, dark berries and savory components. This is generous and rewarding in youth. A beautiful example of savory/briny character accented by rich red fruit. Structured and textured. This shows great complexity, but also inviting freshness. Absolutely great. Had this on the Scotland barge. — 8 years ago
A stunning wine. Superb aromas of flowers and meat. Violets and red betty fruit but really stunning florals. The palate is where this wine really shines. Just ultra finessed and refined and at 9 years old really starting to silken. The texture was like Musigny. Just awesome. — a year ago
A very nice sweet, tart and easy white to drink in the hot summer time — 3 years ago
Fresh fruit, light pepper, a little smoky, a bit of bacon on the nose. Good, smooth tannins on the palate. — 4 years ago
Very nice showing in a difficult, hot vintage from which many wines are already over the hill. — 5 years ago
I’m much higher than Josh Raynolds on this. Soaring nose. Stunning blend of game, flowers, and more flowers, like violet and pastille as well. Amazing purity. The nose is really what it is all about. Just stunning. True ZOMG nose. Granite as well. Palate is structured and very juicy with stunning freshness and purity. Wow. An amazing mouthfeel and such length and texture. Really coats the palate. Stunning richness and decadence. Amazing balance. This is absolutely outrageous. — 8 years ago

Stunningly floral right out of the gate: roses, lilies, peonies, lilac, with green and black olive underneath. Palate is juicy and elegant, with tiny-berry fruit intensity, outrageous fruit quality, supernatural balance, beautiful purity, and a long, persistent finish. Very young, but already a huge step up over 2021 and 2022. 9.6 for now. — a month ago
