Château de Beaucastel Châteauneuf-du-Pape Red Rhone Blend 2015

I have many tasting notes for Beaucastel on Delectable dating back nearly 10 years ago (504 weeks). Always has been a favourite and I had the pleasure of having a guided tasting with my wife and 2 children some years ago at the winery. This wine from the warm 2015 vintage had plenty of ripe black fruits like Blackberry and plum - also herbs and pepper. This Cuvée used all 13 permitted varietals. This was the first of 3 bottles. Next in a year or two. I actually slightly preferred the 2016 Clape Renaissance had over the weekend. I realise the Clape is northern Rhone but thought I would mention it. — 4 days ago

Cuvée K Bordeaux Superieur Red Bordeaux Blend 2011

Really good Bordeaux blend. When we heard it was aged in concrete we knew we had to try it since we talked about that method in class this week. Bonus points for being natural! Fruity and smooth and some good age on it — 5 months ago

Milbrandt Vineyard Syrah 2017

Washington State Syrah from the Wahluke Slope AVA. Dark ruby color with a few black highlights. Aromas of cooked blue and black fruit, wet soil, purple flowers and smoked meat. Flavors of blackberry/blueberry jam, black olives, dark chocolate, dried herbs and roasted nuts. A bit of black pepper spice on the long and deeply concentrated mineral laden finish. Medium-plus body with slightly chewy fine grained tannins. Well balanced acidity and a slightly creamy texture. Quite good. Memorial Day 2026. — 2 months ago

Notes from memory after many months - just remember this was beautifully integrated and singing after 14 years. I’m a huge fan of this Rhône Négociant and producer; consistently excellent. #vinsobres — 9 months ago

Coudoulet de Beaucastel Cotes-du-Rhone Red Rhone Blend 2016

Aromatics of new leather and dried fruit. Not your average Côtes du Rhône as you would expect from Chateau de Beaucastel. More full bodied than expected to go with our chicken dish. Far richer than Guigal’s version of Côtes du Rhône. Had my last bottle 11 weeks later on 27th February 2026 with consistent notes. — 8 months ago

Art Den Hoed Yakima Valley Viognier 2023

Floral, rather oily texture that explodes with peach, a saline/ citrus, honey and flowers. Quite a spicy element to this as well. For @ $ 20, this is excellent. — 10 months ago

Really good winery, though IMO they let the alcohol get too high in a few of their reds.
