Grgich Hills Estate

Napa Valley Chardonnay 2020

The entirety of Napa Valley white wine condensed into a bottle. Little sweet, but mostly dry and a good bit of acid. Delicate aromas of pear, apricot, and a little hint of barrel in there. On the palate it's minerally upfront with the aforementioned fruits and a crisp dry finish. The little bit of age was not a detractor, I would absolutely drink this again and share it around. — 2 months ago

Liquid Farm

Four Sta. Rita Hills Chardonnay 2017

“Four” is a single-vintage blend of the most exciting barrels of Chardonnay from Liquid Farm’s vineyards. Popped and poured; enjoyed with friends over the course of an hour or so. The 2017 pours a striking, intensely bright golden color. I’m not sure I have seen anything quite like it before. It’s nearly neon. On the nose, the wine is redolent ripe and tart tropical fruits: starfruit and pineapple along with lemons, green apple, butter, gentle baking spices (this does see extended time in a small percentage of new oak). On the palate, the wine is dry with what I perceive to be high acid. It’s awesome. Confirming the notes form the nose, the finish is long with good minerality. This is titillating wine that hooks you from sight to nose to palate and it’s the latter that drives it home with the remarkable acid to match the fruit. About as good as any New World Chardonnay I’ve ever had. Drink now through 2039. — 7 months ago

35.6.18 Judean Mountains Red Blend 2017

This Israeli Grenache blend is delicious now.

Medium plus in body with medium acidity.

Dry on the palate with nice complexity and a soft mouthfeel.

Showing black fruits with light wood, spices, coffee, cola, licorice, light vanilla, black pepper and herbs.

Spicy finish with soft tannins.

I've had a few vintages of this wine and it always delivers.

Easy drinking and good by itself or with food. Will pair nicely with a lamb dish.

A blend of Grenache, Carignan and Cabernet Sauvignon. Aged in French oak barrels for 12 months. Kosher.

14.5% alcohol by volume.

92 points.
