Amazing aromas, fruit forward, bold… complex! — 9 months ago
After three unsuccessful Piemontese pulls to go with my Piemontese dish, I finally decided that the wine pairing gods were sending me a signal, so like Justice William O. Douglas, I went west, [not so] young man. And this Grenache-based blend was very nice. Nose had warm, mossy stones, warm kirsch, roasted herbs and campfire. Mouthfilling fruit on entry, but very quickly turns savory and minerally. A bit more tannic than previous vintages I’ve had of this wine. — 4 years ago

Vintage 2016 | Absolutely beautiful, st Julien frivolity, very intens and perfumed | paired with Boeuf Bourguignon | I did not recognize / determine this as Rioja, was obsessed with left bank Bordeaux in my head. Wine of the Night. For me unknown, but o man so good. — a year ago
Warm vintage, soft ripe fruit. Presents as young but very approachable with soft tannins, with liquorice and dark fruit prominent and tannins sitting in the background. An intriguing contrast to the Man O’ War blend alongside it. Very easy to enjoy but perhaps some element missing at this stage. — 4 years ago

In an amazing place. Nose has some reduction which will blow off but man o man that palate. The acid is just so intense and layered, juicy and explosive fruit like you cannot believe. Just cracking! So tasty. It’s got an urgency on the palate that makes this so special. Sappy for days and unreal velvety and mineral drenched tannins. My goodness this is brilliant. Nose has some smoke and leather as well. Unreal freshness. I mean the freshness is like young dry Riesling. Genius stuff and in the window. Let’s see what air does. — 3 days ago
