Double decant for sediment and pour. A remarkable still dark purplish garnet with bricking. On the nose: still captivating areomatics of stewed red fruit, worn leather, herbaceous, pencil shavings, eucalyptus, cigar wrapper, funky earth. Taste: silky, soft, savory, mature wine with just a hint of blackberry, currants, earth, dried herbs, mocha, and a smokey pepper/tobacco medium finish. Sure, on the downside, but if you like savory aged Napa cab this still works tonight. — 10 days ago

Deep Ruby with complex aromas of black and blue fruits, blend of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc, aged for 20 months on French oak (60% new). On the palate flavors of currants, black cherry and blackberry with spice, and a touch of oak. Balanced acidity supported the fine dusty tannins. Oak, cacao, and leather were noted on the long finish. Although this wine needs some bottle age, it’s somewhat approachable now. — 25 days ago

Bottle #2 from case and it has gained some structure and opened a bit in the last 1.5 years. Nose is great, reminds me a lot of last nights Pontet Canet on nose. Hint of tobacco, pencil leaf, red fruits currant, kirsch, and red berries. Great mouthfeel, great balance, and good structure. Looking forward to another in 2 years if I can wait! — 7 days ago
