Golden color. Green apple and vanilla (light oak) on the palate. Age worthy. April 2026. — 4 months ago
Often the Grosset Polish Hill doesn’t live up to its billing as perhaps Australia’s finest dry Riesling but with this 2017 it probably exceeds expectations. It is simply fabulous. Some ripe lusciousness to the mid palate amid lime and lemon notes, but finishes bone dry. My first of 4 bottles so I will enjoy the journey over the next 5+ years if I can keep my hands off it. HH said it is shaping up as one of the greatest Polish Hill Rieslings. — 8 months ago

Pours a purple hue with some fading at the rim; aromas of black and red fruit; raspberry, blackberry, some dark cherry, and cassis; palate with good acidity, congruent with the nose; there is a bit of vanilla clove baking spice oak on the palate. Alcohol is moderate at 13.5; I like the wine, and I don’t drink a whole lot of American wines. The oak influence should be more delicate in my opinion, as the fruit is pretty elegant. It overwhelms a bit, and holds it back. I have doubts that this aspect will improve with bottle age, but I have another couple bottles and will leave in the cellar as an experiment. — a month ago
Good wine, nice depth to the fruit with long finish — 3 months ago
Sweet black fruits - plums. Only medium weight - restrained. 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Franc, 5% Malbec and 5% Petit Verdot. 2012 was a cooler more moderate growing season, more claret style says Sam Middleton. This is not one of the great Quintets IMO. At its best Quintets is one of the best Cabernet blends in Australia. It still reinforces the fact that the Yarra Valley is one of the better terroirs for Bordeaux blends in Australia. Not for long cellaring. This is first of 3 of the 2012 vintage I have in my cellar. — 6 months ago
Outstanding balance and lingering finish. Raspberry, Rainier Cherry, spice — 2 days ago
Dark ruby in color with a short reddish rim.
Fruity nose and medium plus in body with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate with nice complexity.
Showing plums, currants, light wood, earth, spices, coffee, herbs, dark chocolates, tobacco leaf, black pepper, pencil lead and black tea.
Long finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.
This is a very tasty Cabernet Sauvignon based blend from Margaux. Nicely balanced and easy drinking. Fruit forward and elegant.
Showing nice complexity with a soft mouthfeel, spicy and Interesting.
This 10 year old from the great 2016 vintage is still young, and needs a few years in the bottle to mature properly.
Needed a few hours to open up properly, which I didn't have, and it might have been a bit better with more airtime. Already enjoyable even by itself, and a good food wine too.
A blend of 68% Cabernet Sauvignon and 32% Merlot. Aged in (60% new) French Oak barrels for 16 months.
13.5% alcohol by volume.
91 points.

Great value for the money. Enjoyed a late night dinner with a grilled rib eye. Deliciously nice. — 7 months ago
Delicate, a kiss of sweetness with an herbal note. Minerality, of the warm earth, a beauty and elegance, still very much alive. Texturally and structurally beautiful. For this vintage, he hit it out of the park! — 8 months ago

It has been a long time since I drank something like this. As I have often experienced with aged shiraz color degradation is nil. A powerful nose of plums, blackberries and licorice. In the mouth mostly dark fruit with hints of spice. Definitely not showing age, However not enough acid to stop it from getting “sloppy” at the end. Tannins resolved and alcohol held in check. — 4 days ago
