Arboreus Umbria IGT Trebbiano 2015

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a couple hours. The 2015 pours a deep amber color with a translucent core; medium viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with fascinating notes of ripe orchard fruit: apricots, peach, and orange pith; along with pu'er tea, dead flowers, nuts, and dry earth. On the palate, the wine is dry with low tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and there is a slightly waxy texture. This is a wine that gives you that sort of, “open your head, lift out brain, spin it around, and reinsert” sort of experience. Special. Drink now through 2030+. Bottle No. 03507/11970 — 15 days ago

Lighter than the pagliaro, and not as good but still very good. — 2 months ago

Bric dël Fiasc Barolo Nebbiolo 1997

Mature Barolo with scents of violets, pencil shavings, and red berries. On the palate the wine becomes medium bodied with earthier notes but equally enticing. — 2 months ago

Terredora di Paolo

Loggia Della Serra Greco di Tufo 2021

Pale golden yellow color with aromas of stone fruit, citrus and herb spice notes. On the palate flavors of apple with slight citrus and honey notes and herb spice. Good acidity, balance and structure, medium+ finish ending with earthy mineral character. Very Nice! — a month ago

Riserva Pipparello Montefalco Rosso Sangiovese Blend 2011

2011 was ready to go. First montefalco I’ve had with mellowed tannins - huge nose and smooth delivery — 2 months ago

Riserva Costasera Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Corvina Blend 2018

Classic amarone: Prunes, figs, raisins, dark chocolate notes with great firm tannins but still fresh and acidity. Brighter than other years but definitely a tasty wine that pairs well with steak or certain desserts. Definitely will try other vintages. — a month ago
