@Delectable Wine this is the Blanc de Noir*
One of Piedmont’s newest DOCs — for Metodo Classico wines from traditional French varieties. Why should Franciacorta & Trentodoc have all the fun? Great opener to one of best lunches / meals we had in Italy. — a year ago
Finally able to try Cobb. Pinot is extremely hit or miss for me, but I know I enjoy them on the fresh side, close to the coast and with whole cluster use.
Pop and pour. 12.3ABV. Translucent red/purple in the glass. Checks off all the boxes mentioned above…extremely fragrant. Gorgeous floral notes on the nose. Crunchy red fruits, potpurri, herbal and spice from the whole cluster use, mint and black tea. Bright and nervy acidity with good tannin on the finish. For how low the ABV is, it has perfect weight and doesn’t come across lean simply for lean sake. Followed from bottle over two hours and stayed strong. Wonderfully made and definitely my style. — 9 months ago
Ghemme is my sentimental favorite of the Novarese DOCs. I had a really good one when I was in my last year of college and starting my wine journey. It generally is one of the heavier and, sometimes, earthier of the group. This one is very good. Still youthful, it takes time to open up, but slowly reveals dark cherry, mahogany furniture, crushed minerally gravel, and roasted meat scents. Medium full, it’s got concentrated and tight dark cherry fruit, very fine-grained but abundantly chalky tannins, and very nice acidity. No rush to drink this. Enjoy over the next 4-5 years, maybe longer. — a year ago
