Fattoria Petrolo

Torrione Toscana Sangiovese Blend 2019

From Tuscany’s Val d’Arno di Sopra, in the hills east of the Chianti Classico region. This is very friendly and pure tasting. Nose has gorgeously pure, ripe Sangiovese scents of dark cherry, along with some gentle spice and minerally gravel scents. Focused and concentrated fruit in the mouth, forceful but soft and balanced. Not a great deal of complexity, but lots of flavor and purity. — 8 months ago

Villa Petrolo

Bòggina A Val d'Arno di Sopra Sangiovese 2021

Pop and pour. Lovely. Like Nerello mascalese tinged sangio: smoky, seemingly volcanic, blood orange, tar, a touch of funk. On the palate: lovely acidity, elegant and lighter weight, darker on the back palate with soft chalky tannin. Yum. — a year ago

Società Agricola Annesanti

Raspato Sangiovese Aleatico

Delicious pet nat. Sediment in the neck, which drifts into the glass- but that’s all there is to complain about. 80% Sangiovese 20% Aleatico. Dry, med/full body, perfect before dinner all in its own. — 7 months ago

Rossonoah Costa della Sesia Rosso Vespolina Blend 2023

Piedmont-y but disjointed and awkward, so young. Its clothes do not fit right. — 2 months ago

Salero Bramaterra Nebbiolo Croatina 2014

Mostly Nebbiolo, entirely excellent. Pure, vibrant red berries shot through with dusty earth and dried herbs. Nervy, bright, mineral — 8 months ago

Love this producer. A little pricey though.

@Tom Casagrande Is it? Not sure what this retails for but it happened to be one of the more reasonable options on this particular wine list (which admittedly could have used more value options)

When I’ve seen Noah wines retail they’re usually a bit more than other producers’ same DOC wines. Not prohibitively so, but noticeably so.
