Another solid vintage of this benchmark FLX Riesling. Light golden color. Aromas and flavors of green apple, peaches, citrus and white flowers. (Quite the distinct petrol note). Nice mineral touch on the finish. Vibrant acidity and nice length. Medium bodied. Fruit forward but delicate and bone dry. Solid. Thank you for sharing this one with us, Kevin Z! — 5 months ago
Clear deep gold. Abundant, genie-like nose of baked apple and birch. Medium palate confirms the nose -- the apple is green -- with a hint of ripe pear and mineral notes with solid, medium-plus acidity tempered by the barrel treatment. The Classique draws from the top vineyards around lower Seneca Lake, and the result is among the best the Finger Lakes has to offer. Excellent all-around white for rich seafood, pork, or poultry dishes, and especially the Thanksgiving table. Drink now 2021 through 2026. — 9 months ago
I could drink this shit forever, it has a sexy marriage of minerality and acidity. I’m getting green apple, white peach, some lime. Also the suggestion of pizza dough and something savory like mushroom (just me???) — a year ago
Slight lemongrass bouquet. Slight and subtle fresh aromas.
Bought two of these so I could taste one after some years.
Super balanced. A rush of fresh effervescence and meadow like palate. Blades of supple grass, a beautiful chew, bracing acidity balanced with nice mineralogy.
Very elegant. And quaffable. Slight petrol note towards the end but nicely accentuates the overall expression of Riesling. — 2 months ago
Color: Pale white / tinge of yellow
Aroma: Petrol, freshness, crisp, grass, meadows, what you would imagine gushing river water to smell like
Tasting notes: Asian pear, slight cheddar, sweet leaves
Texture: Laced with silk, rich, creamy, comforting, mouth hug

Fire & Ice; Second post in 2023 of this bottle, first post we still had snow, second we have no... Perhaps some variation against our favor tonight, this seems a little flat, but should be other than...🤷🏻♂️ — 10 months ago
Really like this, musky, tropical fruit notes in the very strong finish. One of my faves from our finger lakes wine trip! — 7 months ago
We had the pleasure of opening the 2021 Hermann J. Wiemer.
On the nose there was nice strawberry, cranberry, raspberry, herbaceous notes and green bell pepper.
On the palate there was good strawberry, raspberry, red plum, green bell pepper, a bit of oak and crushed gravel.
This is a medium bodied wine with light velvety mouthfeel medium to medium + acidity and medium to medium + fine tannins that leaves with a medium to medium + red fruit gravel dust finish. Well it looks as though spring can't make up her mind. This weekend looks to be a bit on the cooler side so lets get out and enjoy ourselves. Please stay safe and healthy. Lovely texture; nice interplay between the acid of the Chardonnay and the body the Viognier gives. — 2 months ago
