Very cool to try this vintage. The color has gone to a very rusty red amber and almost a brown rim. (bummer you can’t upload more than one photo) Olive and earth on the nose. Very savory V8 notes of tomato, tomato bisque , black pepper. The palate still has great acidity, very rounded, just a nice lingering finish and almost feels high in heat even though this sits at 12.5% — 4 years ago
Raspberry preserves, cherry, vanilla, cassis, blackberry and oak. Full-bodied and soft tannins. — 5 years ago
Rusty red color. Swirling released dried flower, mulch, black cherry and leather notes. Mushroom, floral and red fruits with silky tannins in the palate. Stunning old world Bordeaux. — 6 years ago
v22. Very good! Rich, saline and black cherry nose. Deep rich, medley of soft tar and black fruits. Smooth, long, astringent, mocha and earthy finish. Nicely balanced. — 10 months ago
Candied raspberry and a hint of non-acetone nail polish remover on the nose, surprisingly brambley and woody/olive pit upfront given the nose, but nice rich plum and other fruits come through as well. Medium color and body, solid tannins but finish is a bit tannic for me. — 2 years ago
Hangin with Daddy, Rusty, and Trey. Gators bout to beat UCF. — 5 years ago
Pretty wine with “lifted acidity” (aka VA /EA / hint of nail polish). The wine relaxed and became more expressive with roses (fresh and dried) fruit (cherry, raspberry, red currant, pomegranate) as the meal and conversation wore on. Tannins are fine-grained and well integrated, but very much present, making the wine a little aloof and muted at first. Give it time to unwind and reach a happy place. — 5 years ago
Earthy nose, raspberries, sour cherries. Medium body. Rusty, iron taste, good acidity, hint of mint? Very dry end, with noticeable tannins and a slightly bitter aftertaste. Tasty and complex. — 6 years ago
Deep red color, almost purple. Very intense initial nose. Very heavy nail polish smell. Very focused scent, with a distant red fruit smell. Very earthy taste, with hints of cherries. Light sugar. (Interesting to note, I can a very quick seafood aftertaste, which was bizarre). — 2 years ago
That's my jam. Smells kinda funky (nail polish) but tastes incredible. Preserved lemon peel, high acid, long finish. — 3 years ago
Enjoyed alongside the 2005 Les Pagodes de Cos. Audouzed for three hours prior. The wine pours a deep ruby, bordering garnet with some fine sediment and a translucent core. On the nose, the wine is highly intense with notes of funky red and dark fruit, tobacco, green bell pepper, leather, damp earth, some nail polish…definitely some VA…but remarkably charming never-the-less. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and a medium+ plus acid. Super fresh. Incredible red fruits, exotic spices, earth, smoke, and tobacco. I finished long…forever and a day. Sublime. The “Pagodes”, while enjoyable in its own way, was weary in comparison. I have several bottles left and look forward to enjoying this vintage for decades to come. — 4 years ago

2022 vintage. From a 375ml bottle. The St. Estèphe exception that proves the rule. Super-delicate cocoa powder with sumptuous richness throughout. Light-medium body. Cos is an outlier on the right. This is on the left. Nearly everything else is in between, hammer and nail 3D BDX...dry, dirty and distinctive. Excellent quality BDX to woo initiates with. 6.26.26. — 4 days ago
