Simone Castelli

Château Simone

Palette Grand Cru de Provence White Rhone Blend 2014

Every time this wine slaps. This time with more age underneath. A little more bruised, equally awesome.

Golden copper. Perfumed and waxy. Browning apple and apricot and smoky sandalwood incense in a sour saline solution.

Casal di Serra Vecchie Vigne Classico Superiore Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi 2023

Austere was the first word that came to mind and then I saw it in @Tom Casagrande’s review as well (though of the previous vintage). Overall I still enjoyed it, but you have to be in the mood for a crisp, somewhat bitter, reclusive wine. — 4 months ago

La Marca di San Michele

CapoVolto Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore 2021

Structure is on point: high acidity, long finish, full mouthfeel. Flavors are a jumbled mess though. Bruised fruit is primary. Clean up some of that and this would be fire. — 3 months ago

Very secondary but still great. Hoisin, dried red berries, wilted red flowers, maitake. — 20 days ago

Slightly effervescent, with dried apricots, honeysuckle.... superbly drinkable and a great accompaniment to watching YouTube videos about influencers. — a month ago

Riserva Clemente VII Chianti Classico Sangiovese Blend 2020

Licorice Snaps, Olive Temponade, cherry, raspberries, slate, strawberry jam! A lot in this glass on Pop n Pour. Vintage Chart indicates nowhere near ready to drink (I use as a light reference). I expect this to improve with age, definitely yummy now! — 3 months ago

@Dave Cheers! Wine Shops in QC! Nope, have had a few over the years. Never lasted! Before Costco I went to Iowa City for anything decent or ordered online!
