Celebrating our completion of the WSET Level 3 exam today!
It was a labor of love. Results won’t be released for several months, but, hey, we poured ourselves into this prep and so wine not celebrate the milestone of getting ‘er done!

Love it so much — 8 months ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed from red Solo cups over the course of an hour. No formal notes. At this stage, the 2015 is more than giving, full of delicious ripe orchard fruits, tiny bubbles, racy acidity and minerals. I imagine this vintage will be really easy to love over the next 20 years or so. — 10 months ago

Got last 2 bottles @ Costco for $13 each on 11/11/19 during a snow storm and 8 degree COLD night. Have had at Stroner’s and love! — 7 years ago
It was a treat to taste a Rafanelli Zin as it’s not available through retail and highly allocated from the winery.
For 2015, the fruits were ripe, bright, and simply delicious; the acidity was round; and the tannins were finely grained. Persistent long finish. — 7 years ago
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour. The 2018 “S” pours a slightly hazy garnet/purple color with a near opaque core; medium viscosity with light staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of pomegranate, cranberry, strawberry, licorice, purple flowers, green herbs and crushed rock. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose, the finish is medium+. I love me some Lapierre. Drink now through 2038. — a month ago

From a really fine, structured Napa vintage, this shows dark fruits and mineral notes aromatically, still has loads of Dunn Howell Mountain structure and tannin, long, lingering finish, but the finish suggests that it needs 10-20 more years of aging, simply an incredible, old school (13% ABV) Napa mountain Cabernet with amazing length and freshness, a true WOW wine (if you’re moderately unoffended by the enormous structure still remaining)!!! — a year ago
Okay this fucks a little harder than the license.
Nice, smooth, white.

Wow. One of the most interesting Sangiovese that I have had. Nice under carbonic that brings out notes of rhubarb tart. Great with grilled vegetables in the summer. — 7 years ago
