Magnum from winery in early 00s. Perfect color and big, deep aromas of cassis, horsehair, menthol & sage and vanilla oak, A polished feel (new oak). Just smooth & effortless, hardly any tannin on the finish. No sediment! Shows liveliness of its younger years, big sweet fruit and slight alcohol (like old whiskey). Stunned it kept in perfect condition โ 6 months ago
Double decant for sediment(lots of chunky sediment) and pour. A remarkable dark purplish magenta color. On the nose: expressive perfumed notes of cherry, currants, dark olives, worn leather, wet forest floor, smoked meat. Taste: silky, savory, elegant wine with fading dried cherries, tobacco, dark chocolate, bell pepper, earth, and a nice mineral, espresso medium plus finish. YUM! Never disappointed with well aged Bosche or Sycamore wines โ a month ago

Took awhile to open but once it did this is a pretty decent Cab - nose is full of fruit - blackberries - palate is a little sparkly, slightly underwhelms vs the nose but still solid โ 2 months ago
Dry-Farmed, a bit of Cabernet Franc in mix, aged 20 months in mostly neutral French oak barrels. Dark Ruby with aromas of ripe berry fruits, herbs and floral spice. On the palate flavors of ripe black cherry, raspberry and cassis with espresso, cinnamon and earthy spice notes. Well balanced, lively acidity, fine tannins, long ending with fruit, cacao and tobacco spice! Nice! โ 5 months ago
Iโm a bit early opening this but have three and was curious. It will be a while before opening another.
After a double decant, it started to blossom after four hours decanted. Smooth and elegant with just the right kind of spice and soft earths on the long, elegant finish.
Better things in another 5 yrs and beyond.
Enjoyed the 2011 James Cole Malbec afterwards more. Charles Hendricks still crafts my favorite new world Malbecs. โ a month ago
Wine Spectator rated the โ21 with an impressive 93 points and this Merlot was featured as #25 on the Top 100 wines of 2024.
flavor notes include blackberry, dark, cherry cedar, and that earthy Napa finish
I recommend this read to anyone who can find the 2021 vintage. Perhaps other years too. โ 2 months ago
