Trimbach

Clos Ste. Hune Alsace Riesling 2016

No formal notes . Quite straw , pale lemon , green tinged . This is quite open , with citrus and petrol hints and , floral and oyster shell . On the palate this is quite creamy , with great drive and energy . Mineral , lime and citrus notes , very high acidity . Very long and detailed and though very young this is showing quite well . Even better in 10 years or so . — 3 days ago

Eroica Gold Riesling 2016

Orange blossom, and marmalade aromas.
Sweet entry, orange, and citrus marmalade flavors. Bright acidity. Ends without leaving too much of a sweet aftertaste.
Excellent desert wine, or with spicy food.

Silky tannins, for sure. A cherry and chocolate, some dark fruit, touch of vanilla and leather. — 2 months ago

Domaine Weinbach

Cuvée Ste. Catherine Schlossberg Alsace Grand Cru Riesling 2022

Perhaps something is off with my palate today, but tasting one of the world‘s great rieslings was a massive disappointment. Can’t get past the extraction and the insanely high alcohol that dwarfs the moderate acidity and faint minerality. Highly extracted phenolics. Least disappointing of the lineup, but worst once you factor in price — 2 months ago
