From Grand Cata with Heleen 5/24/2025. Bursting with flavor. — 4 months ago
Pale Amber color, medium body, moderate legs. Sweet, maybe honeysuckle, maybe mango on the nose. Easy sipping, nondescript pit fruit, light fatty mouth feel. Missing the salinity that we expected in an Albariño. (Bake/broiled Alaskan Lingcod, twice baked potato, side salad, brown bread) Spring is in the air but too cool to dine in the lanai — 5 months ago
The wine that changed my mind on Albariño a few years ago. - at Raft Island — 19 days ago
Soft tree fruit aromas, mouthwatering, lemon zesty, salt aftertaste that lingers on the tongue.
My favorite from Albariño class! Perfect pairing with orange shrimp, rice, and summer veggies! — 22 days ago
Good stone fruit with pineapple and honey in the nose. Lemon grass with a dash of pepper over a pallet of pineapple, melon, and green apple dripped with honey. Limestone finish. — 2 months ago
A nice Albariño crisp, delicious and very enjoyable by itself. Don’t sleep on this wine it’s very good! — 5 months ago
Old Vine Albarino from a small Church vineyard. One of my favorite prodcuers. White flower, lemon zest, hint of salinity and screaming acidity. — 6 days ago

Interesting to compare this with the Bierzo had a few days ago - both the Mencia grape. Consulting my map i note that Ribeira Sacra is next to Bierzo, both in Galicia. I found this wine slightly more delicious than the Bierzo. This wine is 80% Mencia - the other 20% being Garnacha and 5 other varietals that no one would’ve heard of before. Difficult to describe the palate - very savoury and spicy and lacking in overt fruit you might see in an Australian wine. No lesser wine because of this. I had my first one 28 weeks ago in January 2026. — a month ago
Slightly chill before drinking. Floral, blackberry and spice. Some tannin. Medium bodied. Acid. Good summer red option or lunch/brunch. Paired well with aged cheeses, blackberries. Winner of tonight’s tasting. — 6 months ago

Light golden color. Reserved aromas of orchard, tropical and citrus fruit, sea spray and a hint of fresh cut grass. Flavors of green apple, white peach, lemon/lime and nectarine fruit. Noticeable additional flavors of mineral on the long and bright finish. Slightly creamy texture (lees aging?) and crisp acidity. Opens up with a little aeration. Straightforward and solid, but not overly complex. Better with food. — 2 days ago
