Vignes Et Terroirs Du Beaujolais

Domaine du Vissoux / Pierre-Marie Chermette

Origine Vieilles Vignes Beaujolais 2022

Gorgeous Gamay produced from vines that are between 35 and 100 years old. Nose is fruity with floral aromas and hints of pepper. The wine is typical light mouth feel found in the Beaujolais style but very expressive with lots of ripe fruit, silky mouth feel and a long lingering mineral and white pepper finish. Outstanding. — a month ago

Very nice for under 20. Fruity, little jolly rancher. Nice acidity and body. For the price, tough to beat. — 2 months ago

Wine has aged well (2009 vintage). Smooth notes and smooth with bold flavors of cranberry. — 5 months ago

Cuvée Vieilles Vignes Moulin-à-Vent Gamay 2023

Pastille & pennies. It takes a true bad ass to make just one single wine vintage after vintage. Respect. — a month ago

Vieilles Vignes Corcelette Morgon Gamay 2014

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of a few hours and alongside Foillard’s “Corcelette” from 2022. The 2014 “Corcelette” from Daniel Boulard pours a deep garnet color with a near opaque core; medium viscosity with moderate stain of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of wild strawberry, pine forest, Juniper berries, forest floor, hot asphalt, sage, leather, and rounded off by the smell of an old, cracked bar of Irish Spring soap from a basement shower. On the palate the wine is bone dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes on the nose. The finishes long and gorgeous. Rustic but beautiful and a brutally honest wine. Wow. Drink now through 2034. — 2 months ago

Vieilles Vignes Grands Cras Morgon Gamay 2021

Leans into its carbonic character, with a confectionary nose of bright cherry-plum bubble gum, loads of granite, and almost a subtle just-dug root vegetable note. In the mouth it has an initial belt of high/toned fruit, but then slims down and eases into a lean feel, with fine, chalky minerality being the last characteristic. Definitely on the lighter side but quite flavorful. Seems a little disjointed and would probably benefit from another year or so in the bottle to come together. — 4 months ago

Let it sit for almost 10 years and decided to finally open. Full bodied, and great aroma. — 6 months ago
