Made detailed notes and then lost them....must be an over 70’s thing. This wine was #6 in the 2014 Wine Spectator Top 100. Not your typical Chianti Classico with a small 7% of Merlot and 10% Malvasia Nera with small oak maturation. The first of 5. Some cherry/ red fruited notes. Savoury dry tannins. I prefer the more traditional style of CC. — 2 years ago
#6 in Wine Spectators Top 100 for 2014. See previous note. The aromatics of vanilla oak in its youth have mitigated and the whole wine is much more balanced. A deep rich red. Aromas of red and black cherry and a little dried orange peel. Medium bodied palate - very Chianti Classico from a good vintage. It will continue to improve through this decade to 2030. It needed 13 years for everything to come together. Luckily I have a few left. — a year ago

Catalan wine tasting #6
Jammy, rich, sweet & spicy.
This is full-on with black fruit galore, nicely integrated wood,
On the palate this is rich, liqueur-ishc yet there’s bright acidity cutting through, brining freshness & drinkability.
Very light on the tannins, big on the fruity wham.
Surprisingly evolved for 5y. — 2 years ago
Nature wine or flawed? Not sure. Probably won’t go there again any time soon. 7/10-2022 tasting #6/6 — 2 years ago
#6 of Jura Savoie evening
Dark & broody with dark berry fruit (blackberry, mulberry) with some earthy notes and a healthy dose of graphite. Very Gamay, Morton, Brouilly style.
On the palate this has a a firm tannic frame, yet with juicy tannins and good dark plum & mulberry fruit. Nice acidity freshness and a mineral, fresh note.
Needs at least 2h decanting but then is so drinkable. A lovely wine! — 3 years ago
