Very funky, almost sulphurish. Delicious. — 5 years ago
A blend of Listán Blanco (Palomino) and several other native varieties - Malvasía, Forastera, Marmajuelo, Albillo Criollo, Vijariego Blanco and Gual – from various parcels in the village of Taganana in the north of Tenerife, each plot vinified separately. Fermented in concrete open vats (with short skin-macerations) and partially aged in steel (40%) and 228 and 600-liter oak barrels (60%) for about 8 months. Sea breeze, bitter orange and lightly oxidized notes on the nose. Complex, mineral, precise. Nice saltiness, long finish — 6 years ago
WOW ! cognac, honey, syrupy wine. so complex and enjoyable. subtle pear/appley notes. beautiful honey color with great texture. tastes like a bay leaf was dropped into it. so ya slightly herbal. nice acids ? over all yummmmm. — 6 years ago

Very dry but very bright and fruit forward. Dark color. — 4 years ago
Field blend or co-fermented, contains some white varieties. Much more floral and lifted than other RdDs I know— very welcome shift. Alcohol 14% but not noticeable. — 5 years ago
Very subtle and perhaps it received to little attention. — 6 years ago
Great Albillo. Tropical, zesty, quite reductive, subtle oak. Maybe lacks acidity a little bit. Nonetheless great. — 7 years ago
Citrus, white floral notes, white stoned fruit, and some ripe green apple to round it out. Complex with a richness at its core and clean minerality. — 4 months ago
Ribera at it’s peak of the drinking window. Seductive dark fruit backed with elegant vanilla, cedar and subtle bacon fat. Love it. Bought directly from Jorge Monzon. Fascinating visit. Still taste the Albillo. 😉 — 7 months ago
Light gold in color.
Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity.
Dry on the palate with nice complexity and mouthfeel.
Showing limes, apples, light grapefruits, herbs, earth and sea salt.
Tangy finish with almonds and limes.
This is a very unique white wine from Ribera Del Duero in Spain. Drinking very fresh and young as a 6 year old.
A good quality wine that will be nice to revisit it in a couple of years, and see how it evolves.
Easy drinking and good by itself or with food.
Albillo Mayor grapes from old vines.
13% alcohol by volume.
91 points.
$40. — a year ago
Light and refreshing, the obscure Albillo grape! — 5 years ago
Waxy candied citrus. Wet gravel. Had a ‘14 several years ago but don’t remember it much. Fun to see your wine spidey senses evolve, or at least I like to think so. Found out today that the winemakers who crafted this wine have since ceased making wine. That is a bummer. — 6 years ago
