Finca Las Moras

Alma Mora Malbec 2022

Slight fruity smell and a great taste, not sweet but not dry. In my opinion a well balanced red wine to accompany any moment. — a month ago

Jonata Winery

El Alma de Jonata Ballard Canyon Cabernet Franc Blend 2006

2006 vintage. 426 cases produced, 3rd vintage from Jonata. Good fill and excellent (if slightly dry) cork. Decanted with little sed and tasted after 2.25 hours. Whiffable, earthy nose. Light-medium body. Tremendous, dark cherry concentration flavor-wise. A token offering of richness perceived just behind the front teeth on the roof of the mouth/palate. Instructive. 7.6.24. — 3 months ago

La Serena Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2019

Drinking really nice for this recent vintage. A lot going on with this high acid bottle. A year or 2 wouldn’t be a bad thing though. — 3 months ago

Familia Zuccardi

Alma 4 Chardonnay

Extremely compelling. If you could convince people here to shell that kind of money for Argentina fizz, it would be worth twice the price. White stone fruit, delicate florals, lengthy acid with some, rounded by a good press quality — 5 months ago

La Serena

Brunello di Montalcino Sangiovese 2016

2016 was a stand-out year, and this wine reflected that. We could easily have given this another 8 years: it was tight and wild when we opened it, but by the time we had it with dinner, two hours later, it was a powerful and delightful experience. Some tannins had dropped out but it was still grippy, and the fruit had deepened into something wonderful with traces of fig. And that acidity: oh my it was wonderful with our salmon and with some Wagyu. I think one of our guests found the right technical term to capture it: yum. — 3 months ago
