2020 vintage. A fave CA chard and producer. Medium-medium heavy body. Tasting slightly more tropical and advanced with less acidity than usual. Still absolutely delicious tho. Would like to retaste and reevaluate in 5-6 months tho. Based on 30 vintages of tasting this particular wine, betting it reconciles any tawdry, fleeting concerns that occupy my compromised palate and right quick. 01.22.25. — 6 months ago
+1 hour decant(some fine/cloudy sediment). A splendid still deep dark ruby red color. On the nose: brambly dark cherry, mocha Java, worn leather, floral, cloves. Taste: silky, layered, savory mouthfeel wine with dark plum/cherry, dark currants, dark chocolate, graphite, and a peppery dried herb, dusty tannin long finish. YUM! See previous note 105 weeks ago. Australia’s premier example of a straight Viognier. Notes of Apricot and Honeysuckle. Quite luscious on the palate with low acid. Finishes with a skinnsy bitter note which is quite refreshing. — 2 days ago
