I don’t drink a lot of Pinot Grigio or Gris. I used to when I was studying for my Master Court exam as it was a testable grape. Not a varietal that lights up most palates.
I bought this to make my Veal Bolognese for tomorrow night’s Olympic watch in my backyard w/ friends. Thought I’d try it since I went to K&L to buy it and all. Had orders to pick up as well.
It’s not bad for $13. The nose shows the craziest notes of pineapple, topical melon w/ baseball card chewing gum. Can’t say I’ve strung those words together in the same sentence. Notes of apricot & nice chalky minerals.
The palate is round with nice waxy viscosity. The pineapple is overly ripe, semi-dry apricots, tropical melons, underripe Meyer lemons, hints of tangerine, inside banana skin, whip cream, tiny bit of caramel, has the same tropical baseball card gum as the nose but less impactful, light, soft, white spice that give a bit tartness & bitterness, sandstone powder, yellow flowers, spring flowers and jasmine, nice, round acidity, with a round, rich, well balanced, elegant finish that fall on dry earth and lasts nearly a minute.
Guess I enjoyed it as I poured a bit more.

Simple, light, but full of charm. Clear purple dress, beautiful shine. Nose typical of the cabernets-francs de Loire. Raspberry, geranium, violet, blackwood, green pepper (but not too much). The mouth is fresh and tense, with a beautiful mineral weft reminiscent of rifle stone, slate or chalk. Served at 15 degrees, it’s a nice treat.
— 4 years ago
Such a soulful, earthy & substantial Cote Roannaise Gamay-Blend of Gamy Saint Romain and Gamay de Bouze. Reminds me of some Cru Beaujo, but more on black fruits, less cherry ish. Carbonic maceration in stainless steel.. Good farmers wine, in the best possible sense. — 2 months ago

A racy Chiroubles. Charming purple dress, medium concentration and beautiful brilliance. Superb peppery nose, airy between bright floral bouquet (Rose, Iris) and vibrant fruits (cherry and raspberry). Concentration, as expected on solar vintages. The mouth is fresh, tense, with few tannins but beautiful chew. Great drinkability, served refreshed (12/14 degrees) and airy, it's a dangerous drink!
— 2 years ago
This lovely rosé is starting to show some age - I’ve had the bottle at least six years so understandable that it has toasty pastry and brioche notes along with a hint of hazelnut, dried cherry and candied raspberries. Very appealing - clean, crisp and refreshing. Very much the PJ style of medium-bodied wine and a lovely color approaching tawny. — 2 months ago

3.2 A nice Bordeaux blend, but with a somewhat flat aftertaste. Perhaps the 2020 was affected by the fires. On sale for $32.99. — 16 days ago
