Classic CDP. Bright fruit, mellow tannins. And that certain chewiness that screams for a steak dinner. Hints of crushed pepper. Very balanced. — 3 months ago
Very well made wine, wish I had more — 5 days ago
Big nose but not big body. Very tasty but not worth the 100+ price. Really nice but not good value. 80/20 Syrah/ mouvedre. — a month ago
Wine is incredibly dark and brooding. Very dense and heavy taste and texture right out of the bottle.
Drank over about 3 hours. Oxygen was this wines friend and the wine opened up quite a bit to reveal more bright and red fruit to complement the black fruit and density which also gave way as it breathed.
Not a blockbuster from a complexity perspective and lacked the punch of something special. But a solid oakville cab nonetheless and not too oaky. — 23 days ago
Tree Kilpatrick
Dry farmed! Color of blood. Or a bruised plum. Smells like Spanish red. Wood shavings. Berry-cherry pies. Menthol. Flavors are dense and on point. Plenty of woodsy stuff in the mouth too. Just a little fennel. Black cherries. Tannins are tongue drying and pleasant. Hint of licking a sharpened pencil tip perhaps. This is classic Rioja with all the trimmings. — 7 days ago
