Other ratings called this “closed” which I completely agree with. The dense flavors took forever to open up. I popped it at noon for a 7:30p dinner of chick pea and potato pasta, and it was still developing. Highly tannic, but so layered if you have the patience. Darker fruits, yet still some tart red cherry, lavender, rose petals, and ashy dryness. Complex, classic Barolo (from my limited experience). I’ll save my second bottle to see how it develops. — 4 months ago
Light reddish in color with light intensity, and fresh red fruits on the nose.
Medium plus in body with medium plus acidity.
Dry on the palate with mild complexity.
Showing red currants, cherries, strawberries light wood, spices, coffee and dark chocolates.
Tangy finish with fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries.
This is a delicious Barolo. Still very young and needs time to mature properly.
Elegant and rich. Fresh, easy drinking, and already enjoyable, even by itself. Showing nice complexity and mouthfeel.
Needs time to open up properly, so be patient. Good by itself or with food.
Would be nice to revisit it in 10 years.

Cherries, strawberries, fresh cut cedar and bruised rose petals on the nose. Sour cherries, red currant and raspberries on the palate. Robust and well integrated tannin structure. Great basic Nebbiolo. — a month ago
This wine is more about the single-vineyard terroir than the fruits. It has earthy and mineral flavors. it opened up after an hour of decanting. I prefer the multi-vineyard Diamond Mountain Cabernet from this producer. — 2 months ago
Plum skin, spice, leather, tobacco — 3 months ago
Dark ruby core with a garnet rim. The nose is full of aromas of dried cherry, violets, rose petals and leather. Dark cherry, cranberry and raspberry fruit flavors. Hint of black pepper on the short finish. Medium bodied with light tannins and mouth watering acidity. No evidence of oak aging. Basic “pizza wine,” but quite gulpable. Excellent QPR. — 4 months ago

Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of an hour while preparing our meal. The 2010 “Bricco Ambrogio” pours a deep garnet color with a transparent core; medium+ viscosity with no staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of tart and ripe, predominately red fruits: raspberries, cranberry, and pomegranate with roses, tar, dried green herbs, clay garden pot and soft warm spices. On the palate, the wine is bone dry with high tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long and grippy. I have indicated in recent notes that 2010 Barolos are finally starting to show their quality. They will be very long lived and this is no exception. Drink now with patience and through 2050+. — 9 days ago
