Opened just prior to dinner and decanted. The 2010 “Reflet” pours a deep ruby/purple color with a near opaque core; medium viscosity with significant staining of the tears. On the nose, the wine is developing with heady notes of dark brambles, spiced cured meat, purple flowers, black pepper, Kalamata olive, dried green herbs, granitic earth, and a kiss of warm spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long. This is squarely in the zone and fantastic stuff. It’s been almost 2 years since my last bottle of this, and the cellaring has been beneficial. Powerful nose shows all sorts of animal and mineral notes. Some pungent tiny berries underneath. A little sponti funk note too. It explodes on the palate. Dense, mouthcoating flavors, but they’re almost electrocuted by the zingy acids on steroids. Loads of tiny, zingy, dark mountain berries. There’s a fair amount of tannin, but they’re very soft and pillowy. Well done. Will last and improve several more years. — 3 years ago
Nose has plum peel, ripe crushed raspberry, dehydrated strawberry, cold hotel biscuits, fresh almonds and distant dried grapefruit rind.
Palate has dried raspberries, ripe red currant, dried tangerine, dried strawberries and moist chalk with medium finish.
We have all sorts of odd bottles in our cellar, many single, experimental iterations such a this. Not in the least disappointed for this showing today.

Another solid vintage. Beautiful golden color. Aromas of stone fruit, honey and white flowers. Fruit salad flavors of peach, pear, apricot, nectarine and a bit of tropical fruit. A rich honey/beeswax note on the long finish. Silky/oily texture with low acidity. (Wine is still nicely balanced.) Quite vibrant and succulent with a lovely creamy structure. Solid value for Condrieu. Aged quite well. — 4 months ago
The holidays put us in the mood for something delicious, vibrant, and festive. Something bubbly. Tonight, to match the mood, we’re popping this gorgeous pale pink-salmon Crémant d’Alsace produced by Domaine Camille Braun.
It is a rosé from Alsace made with 100% Pinot Noir, the only permitted black grape variety in this region. It comes from organic and biodynamic vineyards in and around the Village of Orschwihr.
Domaine Camille Braun is a family-run operation with roots dating back to the 1500s. Today Christophe and Chantal – a husband and wife team – are carrying forward the family legacy by making expressive wines from the beautiful terroir of Alsace.
This wine offers bright notes of raspberry, cranberry, red apple, lemon curd, dried pink rose, toasted almond, brioche, and wet stones with fine-beaded, persistent bubbles.
Cheers to delicious wines for the holidays! — 3 years ago

Needs 30 minutes for the modicum of oak to blow off.
Nose: white flowers. Hint of elegant richness.
Palate: white nectarines. Light for a viognier. As it opens juicy. Almost a silkiness. — 2 years ago
