The 2014 Pavie is one of my preferred vintages of the decade, perhaps because the growing season put a leash on its power. It has a forward and generous nose, but there is clearly as much complexity as the Figeac that precedes it: dark berry fruit, iron filings, cedar and just a hint of tobacco. Quite involving. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, harmonious and pliant, decent acidity with a silky smooth, persistent finish. This has some way to go. Excellent. Tasted blind at the Southwold 10-Year-On tasting. (Neal Martin, Vinous, March 2024)

2018 vintage. 95% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc. Nathalie d'Espagne took over in 2013 and the wines have gained in finesse ever since. Organically farmed since 2009. Beautiful nose with flowers, crushed strawberries, coffee, and subtle spices. In the mouth it displays juicy red fruit, spices and an intriguing minerality on the finish. Fine length too. Very good value for Pomerol. Abv. 13,5%. — 7 months ago
Blend of 60% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Franc and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon. Deep Ruby red color with aromas of dark black fruit, and a slight herb nose. On the palate flavors of blackberry, currant and raspberry, with tobacco and herbs. Fine grainy tannins, medium+ finish ending with fruit, spice and a touch of earthy mineral notes. — a year ago

Decanted 2 hours. Drank over next 4. 96+ got at Costco for comparatively good price. Checking now to see if I should get more to lay down. One of my favorite wines this year. Getting more. — 14 days ago
