Château Grand Moulin Macquin

G.H. Mumm & Co.

Grand Cordon Brut Champagne Blend

Ming L
9.0

Have a soft spot for Mumm as I have fond memory of the windmill of Moulin de Verzenay.
And this PN leading cuvée is always solid. Grapefruit, yellow peach, citrus, and light yeast. Energetic creamy mousses. Clean finish.

De Conti

Moulin des Dames Bergerac Rouge 2005

Vintage 2005 | the only Bergerac I ever put in the cellar, after tasting it at Brabantse Wijnsocieteit. After 18 years it still has potential to develop further. Certainly the level of St Emilion Grand Cru or top Cru Bourgeois. It must be difficult when you are a vintner with aspirations to live and work in areas that does not sell at a higher price, like Bergerac. The wine is excellent, deep coloured, laurel and black summerfruit, cherries, a bit rough and stubborn tannins - I popped and poured - and nice aftertaste. I searched for recent years but can only find a white cuvée. Lots of character. | Paired with a burger. — 2 years ago

L'Épicurieux

Gamayléon Beaujolais-Lantignié Gamay 2018

A fascinating Beaujo from a mongrel Appellation: tastes more like a light Moulin Vent than a villages. Dark black fruits, some frizzante on the front end as opening up. There is a story here, just have to research. Grand Cru selections importer — 4 years ago

Les Jacques

Syrah 2018

SyrahSession#2Wine#2
Deep, viscous Violin color, curiosity that this wine from Château des Jacques, Beaujolais Domaine renowned for its Moulin-à-Vent. Aromatically marked by the style of the house with a fat and creamy toasted breeding. The varietal notes are respected making this cuvée a kind of great gap between Rhône and Burgundy. A type of wine heralding decades to come and climate change? To be tasted in two years.

Fades quick in the mouth with a banana note that is unpleasant. Still, some terroir here. — 8 months ago

Morgon Grand Cras Gamay 2019

Ripe strawberry, earth, fine tannin, bit of heat on the finish. Nice bojo, but a step behind her Moulin-à-Vent and Morgan Corcelette for my taste — 2 years ago

Château Le Grand Moulin

Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux Red Bordeaux Blend 2016

Faint/Light fragrance of dark berries.
Drinks really well and smoothly, with delicate flavors of dark berries, jam and vanilla. Finishes really smooth and doesn’t linger on the palate.
