2016 vintage. Jérémy Chasseuil is working miracles here. Needs a bit of air, but after half an hour in the decanter it really started to shine. Intense perfume of raspberries, blueberries, violets, rosemary and a hint of truffles lurking in the background. Concentrated, with layers of red and black fruit and subtle spices. Velvety tannins and hardly noticeable oak. Very long too. Still very much under the radar, a great chance to buy a high end Pomerol for less than a 100 euro. — a month ago
So good; euro 550 — 17 hours ago
Other than the style of 80’s Bordeaux’s, 2005 is my favorite modern vintage. It was a grand slam year/vintage for the Bordelaise.
2005’s are drinking beautifully with still room for improvement. Of course, Saint Julien is know for its elegance and this Lagrange is all that. The evolution at this point is sheer beauty.
Round, lush, ripe, soften fruits of; blackberries, dark cherries, both plums, black raspberries & slight bake strawberries. Some red & black licorice, dark red, cola, soft used leather, dry tobacco, soft graphite, savory herbaceous notes, beautiful, relaxed, dark spice, dark rich earth with stones & dry leaves, limestone, gentle unstated spice, undertone; cinnamon, nutmeg, & clove. Black coffee tones, black tea, red roses, red & dark fresh & withering flowers, perfect acidity, balance for days, elegant, smartly polished, elegant finish that lasts 90 seconds and lands on spice & minerals.
Delicious today & will drink beautifully for another 15 years.
Winemaking; 46% Cabernet, 45% Merlot and 9% Petit Verdot. From 40 year old vines and rests in 60% new & 40% used oak for 21 months. — 13 hours ago

Beautiful color of dark ruby with a wide reddish rim.
Elegant nose of blueberries, plums, cooked cherries, light cedar, earth, herbs, chocolates, black pepper, eucalyptus, licorice, herbs and Mediterranean spices.
Medium plus in body and elegant, with medium acidity and long legs.
Dry on the palate with black currants, plums, cherries, light oak, spices, dark chocolates, light mint, coffee, peppercorn, licorice, herbs, light earth and black tea.
Long finish with round tannins and tangy cherries.
This is a delicious Merlot from the great 2016 vintage in Pomerol. Nicely balanced and fruit forward.
Still young and restrained, and needs a few years in the bottle to mature properly, but drinking so well already. Will continue to age nicely in the next 10 to 15 years. Has good potential to become a 94+ point wine.
Rich and chewy. Complex, entertaining and good by itself as a sipping wine.
A blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Aged for 16 months in (70% new) French Oak barrels.
14% alcohol by volume.
92 points.

On the nose this wine is ripe raspberries and it carries through to the palate. It is structured on soft tannins that dissipate on the palate after 45 minutes decanted. As the wine opens I get a hint of violet mixed with dark fruit. This is a beautiful wine to drink now & I suspect it will remain so another 3-5 years. — 4 days ago

Presented to me double-blind at Tasting Group. The wine pours a deep garnet color with a near opaque core and rust colored rim; medium+ viscosity with moderate staining of the tears and some signs of light sediment. On the nose, the wine is vinous with notes of ripe and drying fruits: lightly stewed blackberries, black cherry, plums, tobacco, dried green herbs, old fine wood, vanilla and warm spices. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ tannin and medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long.
Initial conclusions: this could be Tempranillo, Malbec, Merlot (or based blend), or Zinfandel-based blend from Spain, Argentina, France or the United States. However, the staining was a bit much unless there was a lot of PS in the blend so I eliminated Zinfandel. I also didn’t think this was purple enough for Malbec. This left me with Tempranillo or Merlot and I felt that this leaned more towards its structure than fruit so I was leaning Spain or France with 15-20 years of age and from a solar vintage. Ultimately, I chose Tempranillo, from Spain, Rioja, Gran Reserva from 2006…from a quality producer like C.V.N.E. Yeah, I can see Pomerol. Shoot. This is stuff and ready to drink now and will drink well through 2032+. — 17 days ago
