I know a thing or two about Loire cab franc. This is a crazy wine. Light body. Complex. Faintest pyrazines, but totally integrated, so they only appear on the mid pallet and are disappear at the finish. bright, restrained red fruit. drying tannins on the back end. Almost alpine, underripe blackberries and cracked pepper. Drinks like a feminine Barbaresco with different fruit profile. Wild. — 24 days ago
Lestage 2010, a bit of aging on it. Nicely integrated now. Tar, cedar and black currant on the nose. A nice meat juice and truffle note is lurking in the back. The palate is not the broadest or the most impressive but shines with its acid drive, its nice peppery notes, its bright black currant touch and its polished tannins that are now well integrated. There is a nice bitter note blossoming over a finish that sports some black currant and peppery touches. It's a good wine and it has still some time ahead, it's still has a young wine profile. We paired with duck confit and cooked apple, a great pairing. — 9 months ago

Last night I opened the 2016 Château Rose Sainte-Croix made from Left Bank Bordeaux grapes mainly the Médoc - Listrac. The blend is 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 50% Merlot.
On the nose there is black cherry, blackberry, black plum, black currant, menthol, licorice, spice, some oak and dark earth.
On the palate I am getting black cherry, blackberry, black currant, cedar, licorice, tobacco, herbs, a vegital note, spice and earth.
This wine is full bodied with a smooth mouthfeel medium + acidity and medium + grippy sandy tannins that leave you with a long dark fruit earthy finish. I wish everyone a wonderful weekend, please be safe and stay healthy. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — 2 years ago

Bordeaux from another era. Pre-Robert-Parker they say. Bottle with estate provenance. A gem, still structured, completely integrated, elegant, more than balanced-composed, slightly complex with length. An experience all in it self. — 5 days ago
