2012 vintage. Solid cork and fill. Decanted and tasted after 20 mins and 45 mins. Medium body. Nice dusty, dirty, funky nose with just a hint of barnyard that dissipated quickly. Great integration and showing quite well currently. Likely another 5-7 years in this current state. Not improving at this point 12.13.24. — 2 months ago
2010 vintage. Nice fill and perfect cork. Decanted with very minimal sed. Still vibrant color a shade below ruby red. Tasted 5 mins and 30 mins after decanting. Nose slightly dirtier than expected after the funk blew off 10 mins post-decant. Medium body. Two other participants involved in tasting this mentioned a banana note, which I got after a bit of searching. It was far from a Hefeweizen gimme to be sure. Was honestly captivated by a clarion bell of exquisite, red fruit tartness at the top of the middle palate that set and reset my experience throughout at every sip. 02.22.25. — a day ago

Great acidity with plenty of red fruits, cherry, cranberry and plums. Its expressive and refreshing finish reminds me of those outstanding nouveau beaujolis that keeps me reaching for another bottle with friends. — 4 months ago

Let’s face it, “Irouléguy” might fun to say…but it’s likely to be a hard sale at most tables. However, when the former, longtime winemaker at Pétrus is behind it, wine folks will perk up and listen. And that’s the situation we have here with Herri Mina. The story goes, Jean-Claude Berrouet after spending over 30 years as the winemaker at Chateau Pétrus, returned to his Basque homeland to create Herri Mina. He made two wines: a Blanc and a Rouge. This is the former and it’s fabulous.
Popped and poured; enjoyed over the course of dinner. The 2022 Blanc is a blend of Gros Manseng, Petit Corbu, Petit Manseng. It pours a bright straw color with medium viscosity. On the nose, the wine is developing with notes of ripe tropical and orchard fruit: pineapple, green apple, some stone fruits, yellow flowers, nuts, and minerals. On the palate, the wine is dry with medium+ acid. Confirming the notes from the nose. The finish is long, slightly saline and there’s a rich, creamy texture. Classy. Drink now through 2032. — 19 days ago
