Mount Langi Ghiran

Cliff Edge Shiraz 2019

Spicy mulberry and blue fruit aromas and flavors, nice richness, good structure, medium-long finish, should develop for 2-4 more years, very nice! — 2 months ago

@Doug Powers Love this wine. Great QPR. Their top Cuvée Langhi is one of Australia’s best IMO.

Edge Hill

Bacigalupi Vineyard Chardonnay 2013

Still delicious and has changed less with age than I expected. Not sure if I should have sat on it longer. It has gotten nuttier with hazelnut becoming more prominent. Still a lot of oak and lemon, with a touch of flint and brioche. It’s — 6 months ago

Dark berries with hints of licorice. Smooth finish with nicely integrated tannins. It’s a quintessential California Cab. — 3 months ago

Tasmania Pinot Noir 2024

Pale and young. My first 2024 wine. From a reputable producer but not worth the $86 (restaurant wine list) we paid. — 5 months ago

Château Beychevelle

Saint-Julien Red Bordeaux Blend 1986

Another oldie, probably just past its peak. 38 years old - not bad! Barn-sided red with some brick on the edge. Lots of cedar, graphite, black pepper and cigar ash to smell but little fruit. Nice smooth tannins, still a little puckering. Medium acidity. For flavor there are some darker berries and red cherry notes. It’s a nicely balanced wine. Good length on the finish. — a year ago

Alexander Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

This is a delicious 9 year old Cabernet Sauvignon from Alexander Valley.

Dry on the palate with nice complexity.

Showing red and black fruits with wood, earth, vegetables, spices, tobacco leaf, dark coffee, dark chocolates and light vegetables.

Feels like a Napa Cabernet Sauvignon with a touch of earthiness.

Needed 2 hours to open up properly.

Wine Enthusiasts 91 points.

Delicious, soft and elegant.

A blend of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc and 3% Malbec.

92 points.

$30.

Has a lot going on. Opened this vintage a couple years ago but it has since evolved. Complex yet delicate. — 5 months ago
