Enough age to bring the fruit intensity down a notch, & man that’s some good fruit- emphasis on the cassis & blackberries. Usually not a mega fan of Bordeaux, but this fit the bill for a shared bottle with friends, drink outside on the banks of the Hudson. — 2 years ago
Really liked it. Not too sweet but fruity and gentle. Very easy to drink. — 3 years ago

2019 vintage. This Rhône vintage is a stone-cold killer. Mega-value/QPR. Lip-smacking with blackberry driving the bus. Only quibble is a lack of spice/tannins but this is so delicious for the price that it’s irrelevant. Best affordable CDP I’ve ever had. Roughly half the price of many standard CDP’s. Probably best in the next 5-7 years tho. Lacks the structure to go the distance. — 4 years ago
Выпито вторым вином в этот же вечер. Очень мощное (14%) 100% ассиртико 2022 года с острова Санторини запомнится надолго. 💥 — 7 months ago
Ridiculous Rhini! What a nose. Red cherries and berries galore. You can smell the density. Gorgeous soil and limestone tones. Unreal expansiveness and so so aromatic. Just a crazy nose that has so much breadth. The clarity, purity and pinosity are off the charts. Palate is tangy and tense and as usual at chez Ziereisen it needs mega air but the structural architecture is there. A very red fruited expression of Pinot which seems to be the new direction this estate’s Pinots are going in which I am here for. Lovely bitter herbals on the nose now. Great freshness and acidity but needs to fill out. It will. I’ll be back. Fruit getting sweeter with air that classic hidden Rhini structure. Now with air the nose is super spicy and complex . Herbal and spicey. Fruit is so much sweeter and is like a squeegee on the palate and clings to the palate. So clean on the backend. Huge quality change on day 2. Nose is denser and cleaner with rich cherry fruits, pine resin, black forest vibes and spice. Wow. A 9.7 nose today. Palate is elegant and dense with that unreal Rhini elegant yet substantial structure and crazy complexity. Big but very very fine tannins. 9.5 to 9.6 overnight. — 2 years ago
Love this estate. Poor man’s Petrus. Not really but fun to say Plummy, earth and bittersweet cocoa on the nose. Really complex spices also develop with air. Gorgeous aromas. Really classy. Needs mega air to get going but it’s all there. Palate is rich and rile but with terrific freshness and purity. This is a backwards wine. I forgot how backwards when young a great Bordeaux can be. Superb concentration and easily the most elegant Samion ever. The finish is crazy long and detailed. With so much cassis and elegant tannins that are perfectly integrated with the fruit. This is superb. — 4 years ago

Tons of floral, wild dark berries and spice on the nose. Mid season cherry. Palate is so good. Rich, elegant, deep, gritty and nimble. Some nice amplitude in the mid palate and great tension and red fruits on the finish. Needs mega air so I can only assume score goes higher tomorrow. — 2 months ago
